D’un *anuntz (attesté par les lieux-dits Anuncibay, Bacu Anuntza), diminutif d’un *anuna (cf. navarro-labourdin ahuña, ahüñe, souletin a(g)uña), élargissement d’un *anu, d’où antx (vieux) « bouc ».
