- (Verbe) D’origine incertaine ; peut-être du dialecte du Suffolk, composé de to flabby ou to flap (« frapper ») et de aghast (« effaré, épouvanté »)[1] ou bien gast (« étonné »)[2]. Le mot a peut-être un rapport avec l’écossais flabrigast (« fanfaronner ») ou flabrigastit (« exténué »)[1][3].
