Italiano: Questa è la stessa concrezione di calcite in una grotta vista da due punti di vista diversi, una colata calcarea che finisce in un laghetto. Questa immagine è molto particolare perché ci mostra i diversi modi di cristallizzare della calcite (CaCO3) in due ambienti con caratteristiche differenti ma molto vicini l’uno all’altro. Nella parte superiore possiamo vedere la concrezione di calcite fuori dall’acqua, dove l’acqua che scorre fuori dalle fratture della montagna può scorrere più velocemente sulla roccia per la gravità e quindi la calcite cristallizza sotto forma di colata. Invece nella parte inferiore siamo sott’acqua e qui c’è meno forza di gravità e di conseguenza la calcite è libera di cristallizzare nella sua vera forma cristallina con molti cristalli ben formati (aiutata forse anche dalla concentrazione maggiore di carbonato di calcio). English: This is the same formation of calcite in a cave from two different points of view, a limestone flow into a little lake. This picture is particular because it shows us the diffferent ways the calcite (CaCO3) can crystalize in two enviroments with different conditions but very close to each other. In the top we can see the formation of calcite out of the water, where the water that comes out from the fractures of the mountains can flow faster on the rocks for the gravity and the calcite crystalize in a flow. Instead in the bottom we are under the water and here there is less gravity so the calcite is free to crystalize in its real form with a lot of beautiful well formed crystals (maybe also helped by the major concentration of calcium carbonate). |
