Description
English: Sailors onboard Type 42 destroyer HMS York smile as the ship arrives in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2012.

HMS York arrived in St Petersburg at the end of a combined France, Russia,United Kingdom and United States (FRUKUS) exercise in the Baltic Sea. The ship conducted offical ceremonies and functions whilst alongside.

The ships company dressed in their number 1's uniform manned the upper decks of the ships for Procedure Alpha. HMS York was decomissioned later in 2012.

This image was part of the winning Photographer of the Year Portfolio for LA(Phot) Dave Jenkins in the 2012 Peregrine Trophy Competition and also scooped the Royal Navy ‘Life Without Limits’ Award.
