- (1620)[1] Apparait avec le sens de « punaise des lits » (aujourd’hui bedbug), probablement du moyen anglais bugge (« épouvantail, chose effrayante ») sens qui est dans bugaboo, bugbear ou encore bogey, bogeyman.
- (1889) Sens de « défaut de fonctionnement » probablement forgé par Thomas Edison[1] et appliqué par la suite aux ordinateurs.
- (1919) Sens de « virus, microbe ».
